Adding Comfort to your Bedroom

There really is no better feeling that curling up in your warm and comfy room after a long day or taking care of the kids, traveling, or working. If your room is designed for a comfortable sleep, you will drift off into a happy sleep, as soon as your head touches the pillow. However, if your space is not comfortable, you can end up tossing and turning for hours and lose all of your precious sleep time. For those of us with busy schedules, when it comes time to sleep, we need to get it in, like it’s our job. When you only have a limited time to sleep, you don’t want to waste a single second tossing and turning. Here are some tips to make your bedroom extra comfortable, so you don’t miss a wink.

  • Get the Television out of your Room

You are not a teenager anymore. There is no need for you to have a television in your room. If you want to watch television, do it in the living room. Having a television in your bedroom confuses your brain. You are telling yourself to go to sleep, and you are telling yourself to stay up and watch your favorite television show or movie. To make your bedroom like a sanctuary, where you go to get some “z’s”, ditch the television and opt for a fireplace insert instead. That way you can watch the light from the fire dance around the room as you drift off to sleep.

  • Plush, Plush, and more Plush

Choose a plush mattress, plush covers, and super plush pillows for your room. Make your bed like sleeping on a cloud. It is the best way to really enjoy a good night’s sleep. You want to be comfortable and those soft materials are the perfect choice.

  • Lighting

Choose softer lighting for your room. The best way to do this is to choose lamps, instead of overhead light fixtures. If you choose a fan for over your bed, choose one without the lights. The softer lighting will make it easier for you to get in there and go to bed.

Add a throw rug on the side of the bed. Wool rugs are perfect. If you are stepping out of bed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, you will love stepping on the warm and comfy rug. It is a great way to enjoy some warmth and comfort while getting ready to lie down as well.

  • Plants

Plants are perfect for helping you get to sleep. It is like an air purification system and the plant are perfect for creating clean air in the room. They look great too, and that never hurts.
